June 8 Board Meeting

We met at noon on June 8 at the OK. All the regulars were there, plus incoming Board member Eric B. and new member Ashley H. It's always nice to have visitors. Any member is welcome to attend. We did all the usual board stuff--minutes, trerasurer's report, correspondence, bills, etc. Under old business we talked about the Kiwanis/KAH packing event for June 15 from 6-8 pm at the Manual Arts building. Food will be served. This is a family event, so bring yours if you still have one! The other item was the smoke alarm installation at Smitty's Trailer Park on Saturday June 26 starting at 9:30 am. There are 226 trailers to service, but since we are one of several groups involved it should only take 60 to 90 minutes. This is a community service project, so talk to Neil G. if you have questions. Please sign up to help. Under new business we approved three applicants for membership--Susan P., Dan S., and Michie B. Induction date is TBA later. July 10 is the Friends of the Library sale. We will man a concession booth again this year. It is always a lot of fun to work, and to wander around looking at all the CHEAP books. Watch for the sign-up sheet. After new business, we hear committee reports. Youth Services will hand out dictionaries again this year; they will also participate in the back-pack project. Community services decided to assist Revive Inc with their concert/barbecue on July 9. We will provide manpower and a cash contribution. Aktion Club is planning on doing a roadside clean-up. KAH has an event on June 9 in the morning, two back-to-back events on June 12, and the Kiwanis event on June 15. Finally, we approved the new mugs we are ordering to give to our speakers and discussed possible participation in various upcoming parades. All of this in the space of one hour. Wow.
